The East China Sea is part of the Pacific Ocean and is a marginal sea east of China. It covers approximately 482,000 square miles. The Sea is bordered with two Japanese islands to the east, the South China Sea on the south, and by the continent of Asia to the west. It also connects with the Sea of Japan through the Korea Strait and eventually opens into the Yellow Sea. The Yangtze River (Chang Jiang) is the largest river that flows into the East China Sea.
